Dr. Ioannis Tzouganakis, the only veterinary specialist ophthalmologist recognised by the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmology (ECVO) in the Peterborough area, leads our team. He brings years of expertise and a commitment to excellence to every patient interaction.

IOANNIS TZOUGANAKIS

Clinical Director

Ioannis is a recognised European and RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology (ECVO and EBVS specialist). He has always been passionate about veterinary ophthalmology and has pursued multiple qualifications in this field. Prior to founding Vet Eye Care, he was leading the ophthalmology team at one of the largest multidisciplinary referral hospitals in the UK. Having spent nearly a decade working at referral hospitals, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the VEC team. He is passionate about surgery, especially cataract and vitreoretinal surgery and he is one of the very few surgeons in the UK that can perform retinal reattachment surgery.

AMY GALLEY

Veterinary Ophthalmologist

Amy graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2015. She worked in general practice for a total of five years and completed a rotating internship at the Royal Veterinary College between 2018-2019.
 
In 2021, Amy started her ophthalmology training at a large multi-disciplinary referral hospital in Cambridgeshire. She initially completed her ophthalmology internship, during which time she achieved her BSAVA Post Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Ophthalmology with distinction. Amy then embarked upon a 3-year ECVO Residency Training Programme to become a specialist ophthalmologist. Amy is currently studying for her board exams which she is due to sit in 2026.  
 
Amy enjoys all aspects of medical and surgical ophthalmology, with a particular interest in neuro-ophthalmology, an area she has published research in. 
 
Outside of work Amy loves spending time with her precious rescue rabbits, Howard & Pepper.

ACHILLEAS MARIOS LAMPROPOULOS

DVM, PGCertSAOphthal, MRCVS
Resident in Veterinary Ophthalmology

Achilleas graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2019. He began his career in a small animal practice in Athens before moving to the United Kingdom, where he worked as a general practitioner for 2.5 years, first in Swindon and later in Southampton. In 2023, he completed an ophthalmology internship at a private referral clinic at the South Coast, where he remained as a Junior Ophthalmology Clinician. In 2026, he achieved his post graduate certification in Small Animal Ophthalmology with BSAVA. 

In February 2025, Achilleas joined Vet Eye Care and is currently undergoing his speciality training as a Resident in Veterinary Ophthalmology (ECVO residency training) at our clinic. 

Outside of work Achilleas enjoys travelling, outdoor activities and spending time with his naughty cat, Molly.

JENNI NORTHERN

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Jenni qualified with a NVQ3 in Veterinary Nursing in 2010 and has worked in a number of veterinary small animal practices since. In October 2014, she successfully passed her Merit Award in Small Animal Medical Nursing. Jenni has a particular interest in veterinary anaesthesia and intensive care and has attended multiple conferences and training days in that field. Jenni is married to Chris and they share their home with their beloved tricoloured Staffy, called Rueben, and their cat (Suki). In her spare time, she enjoys wild camping and swimming.

ELLIE BARKER

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Ellie qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2018 and has worked within the veterinary industry since 2003. She enjoys all aspects of nursing and is passionate about the care of her patients. When she is not at work, she likes to go ‘off-grid’ in her camper van, whether it be climbing mountains, exploring forests or walking along the beach with her elderly Jack Russel Terrier, Ralph.

GEORGIA LITCHFIELD

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Georgia qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2020 and has been working in general small animal practice until joining VEC in 2024. She has always had a love and care for animals which is what has lead her to this profession and she has a particular interest in nursing hospitalised patients. At home, Georgia has two dogs, a crazy staffy and a little old jack russell as well as a fat ginger cat. She enjoys spending her time walking her dogs and painting.

RACHAEL BRIGGS

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Rachael joined the team at VEC in 2026. She qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2022 and has been working in the veterinary industry since 2017. Throughout her career, Rachael has worked with a wide variety of animals both domestic and wild – including tigers and elephants during her time at a wildlife rescue in Thailand! She is also a Marine Mammal Medic for the BDMLR and has helped out with many seal pup rescues along the east coast. At home she has a mischievous little black cat called Winnie, who keeps her on her toes. In her spare time, Rachael also enjoys the outdoors and going on adventures in her camper van with her fiancé, Eryk

RACHAEL GERAGHTY

Practice Manager

Prior to joining the team at Vet Eye Care, Rachael was managing a first opinion vet practice and her role was instrumental to the growth and development of the practice. Recently she completed a certificate in Veterinary Management, building on the knowledge already gained from years in the industry. Rachael lives with her husband and daughter, their two cats and dog.

KERI FREELAND

Head of Client Care

Keri has worked as a Veterinary Receptionist for over 8 years, and enjoys meeting pets and their owners. She lives with her husband Stuart and Labrador, Cali. Outside of work Keri enjoys dog walking, crocheting, baking and travelling.

Client Care Assistant

Kaylee joined Vet Eye Care in March 2025. Prior to this Kaylee has worked in the animal industry since 2019 and client care since 2021. She enjoys meeting new people and is passionate about providing the best experience possible for both clients and patients. At home, Kaylee lives with her husband and their cheeky Dachshund Jax. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking and travelling the world.

KIM JACKSON

Patient Care Assistant

Kim has worked in the veterinary industry for most of her working life. Starting off as a work experience student in 2015 and progressing to receptionist and PCA positions across several practices. She took a few short breaks along the way but was always drawn back to veterinary work. Kim previously worked in general practice and is very excited to now be working in a referral clinic. She has always loved animals and at home lives with 5 guinea pigs, 4 cats and a little terrier cross called Winnie.

Housekeeper

Kelly lives with her husband, two dogs (Ali and Midnight), a cat named Salem, and a rabbit. In her spare time, she enjoys being out in the garden tending to her vegetable plot and reading a good book
